Maple Leaf Popsicles
- You really can make any flavour of these popsicles, but to keep with the theme, use watermelon or strawberries as a base. All you need is a maple leaf cookie cutter and popsicle sticks. Here’s a great how-to I found online.
- This iconic Indigenous dish is so delicious, and a great way to spark up a conversation with your family while celebrating Indigenous culture. Local Cree chef Shane Chartrand features an amazing Bannock recipe in his new cookbook Tawaw – Progressive Indigenous Cuisine. He says the key to making it perfectly is to not overmix your ingredients. “The dough should look shaggy.” Chef Chartrand says it’s essential to mix by hand, not with an electric or stand-up mixer.
