Every girl needs a party dress in her closet. Whether it’s for a fancy spring gala, a girls’ trip to Vegas, or all of those weddings you’ll attend this summer, give the Little Black Dress a break and bust out something a little more fun and flirty!
I love the movement of this dress because of the full skirt. (You know how much I love a dress with some flow.) I wore my Spanx shorts underneath which played two roles – tummy flattening and extra coverage for my lady parts. (You know, just in case my twirling got a little carried away!)
I’m all about navy right now, so I paired my party dress with these super-cute pumps with a patent back and suede toe. I love mixing textures (not just with shoes, but the whole outfit)!
With my pumps on the darker side, I wanted to lighten up the rest of the outfit, especially for spring. I kept my jewelry a nice, bright silver and took the same approach with my bag. Shoes and bag should compliment one another, but I almost never match mine. (That’s an old rule that needs to be tossed out!)
Something about this outfit brought out my youthful side. It made me feel like I was six years old again, playing dress up in Grandma’s closet (my Grandma was a stylish lady!).
I scored this entire outfit for less than $300 from Saks Off Fifth.
Keepsake Party Dress – $99
Karl Lagerfeld Purse – $89
