Here’s how I styled my new ethically-made, snake-inspired leather boots – definitely the ‘It’ print of the season!

Forget about finding shoes to go with your outfit. I say, build the outfit around the shoes! When it comes to buying shoes, I only commit if I’m totally in love with them. If you’re the type of shoe shopper that always makes the practical purchase, or limits yourself to certain wardrobe staples, I issue this challenge: invest in pieces you’re actually excited to put on. It makes putting outfits together that much more enjoyable!

These snake-inspired, heeled Chelsea boots from Canadian company Poppy Barley are right on trend. Like all PB’s, they’re extremely comfortable with incredible quality, and ethically-crafted in fair and safe working conditions (read more about Poppy Barley’s factories here).

I paired them with high-rise button fly jeans, a cozy green plush jacket, and a made-in-Edmonton handbag (shop below).

    Kari you’ve really inspired with your blog. I have been looking at so many cute boots this fall, with amazing patterns on them. And then I just go back to plain old black. But by choosing stylish, well built and comfortable boots , you can have them for many years. The “inspired by snake skin”, is basically a neutral, and would go with so many outfits 💗

    I have tried on A LOT of snakeskin shoes this fall, but haven’t fell in love with any until now! I felt all other options were “too much” snakeskin but the contrast on these with the black – dynamite! You rock those boots!
