This autumn-inspired apple cocktail is delicious! A perfect mix of sweet and savoury, featuring honey-distilled gin.

Apple a Day Cocktail

This cocktail is basically Autumn in a glass! It’s perfect for getting cozy in your favourite cardigan, sitting on your porch, and having a sip, surrounded by the beautiful colours of the season. This recipe calls for two ounces of gin (more on that below), but feel free to back it off to 1.5 ounces if you prefer more cider punch. For me, the ingredients that make this drink so good are the frozen matchstick apple slices, the Himalayan sea salt rim, and a special, locally-distilled gin!

Roundabout Gin is produced at Greenwood Distillers out of Sundre, Alberta. The gin is honey-distilled, and is made with Juniper, Coriander, Angelica, Red Peppercorn, Aji Amarillo Chili, Lemongrass, Liquorice Root, Sea Buckthorn. Read all about it here.

You’ll Need:

  • 2 ounces of Roundabout Gin
  • 3 ounces of apple cider
  • Juice of one lime
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 of a Pink Lady apple sliced into matchsticks
  • small piece of dried apple
  • a sprig of rosemary or thyme

  • Rim a short cocktail glass with Himalayan sea salt for a nice mix of sweet and savoury.
  • Pour gin, apple cider, lime, and cinnamon into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake for 20-30 seconds and pour.
  • Add in matchstick apples (pop these in the freezer about one hour before you mix the cocktail).
  • Garnish with a piece of dried apple and sprig of your favourite herb (I recommend rosemary or thyme).

First time going to Disney? We got so much great a First time going to Disney? We got so much great advice and awesome tips for how to maximize our first time at the park as a family.

➡️ The number one thing I want to pass along is to allow breathing room in your days there. Don't overplan it. Try not to be SO scheduled that you miss the magic. ✨️

Of course you want to have a general plan of the rides you want to hit, your strategy for tackling the pack, etc. but leave space so when suddenly Goofy is walking down the street and your kiddo wants a photo - you have time.

➡️ Book your hotel and park passes ahead of time for sure. Reserve a character dinner too (we booked ours the day before and got the last spot).

There are a lot of to-the-minute schedules you'll find out there for how to hit every ride and try all the food in record time but for a family with young kids, I don't recommend it. Just go with the flow and have fun! 🤗

➡️ Make sure to head a few reels back and see how we surprised our seven-year-old with the trip! Ask any questions below. ❤️ Like and save this post if it was helpful for you.
