This DIY Christmas Playdough is the best, and easiest to make! Plus, it comes in all the Christmas colours and smells like the holidays! Gift to a friend or keep around the house for a fun activity this season.

DIY Christmas Playdough-1Whether you want to whip some of this up for your kids to play with or package up to gift, this Christmas playdough is super easy to make and smells just like the holidays. Our friend Alie from Creation Space – a magical little art studio in Edmonton, Canada – passed along her amazing playdough recipe for me to share and we added in the Christmas! Thank you, Alie!

If you’re gifting these, package them up in plastic containers (this trio of three is from The Dollar Store) and include a Christmas stamp (I got ours at Michaels), along with a few Christmas-themed cookie cutters. Would make for a cute present for your little ones to pass along to their buddies!

DIY Christmas Playdough-2You’ll Need:

  • One cup Flour
  • 1/3 cup salt
  • Two teaspoons cream of tartar
  • One Cup of Water
  • Two tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 12 drops of tree scent essential oil (Green)
  • 1/2 Dried cranberries or cranberry essential oil (Red)
  • One TBSP peppermint extract (White)
  • Green + red food colouring

DIY Christmas Playdough-3

Directions:

  • Add flour, salt, and cream of tartar to a non-stick pan.
  • Add vegetable oil.
  • Drop in your scent of choice.
  • Cook on medium stirring frequently until it clumps around the spoon like playdough.
  • Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  • Once cooled, knead.
  • Form a ball and create a divet for the dye.
  • Work the dye into the playdough by squishing and kneading.

First time going to Disney? We got so much great a First time going to Disney? We got so much great advice and awesome tips for how to maximize our first time at the park as a family.

➡️ The number one thing I want to pass along is to allow breathing room in your days there. Don't overplan it. Try not to be SO scheduled that you miss the magic. ✨️

Of course you want to have a general plan of the rides you want to hit, your strategy for tackling the pack, etc. but leave space so when suddenly Goofy is walking down the street and your kiddo wants a photo - you have time.

➡️ Book your hotel and park passes ahead of time for sure. Reserve a character dinner too (we booked ours the day before and got the last spot).

There are a lot of to-the-minute schedules you'll find out there for how to hit every ride and try all the food in record time but for a family with young kids, I don't recommend it. Just go with the flow and have fun! 🤗

➡️ Make sure to head a few reels back and see how we surprised our seven-year-old with the trip! Ask any questions below. ❤️ Like and save this post if it was helpful for you.
